This was the fourth year of The Steve Death Memorial Golf Classic held at Oakridge Golf Club. This golf tournament is in honour of our good friend, Steve, who lost his battle with cancer in 2003. This year the tournament raised over $50,000 dollars!!! The money raised is donated to the The Oshawa Hospital Foundation and, new this year, a scholarship for a student at Brock University (where Steve attended) who is a cancer survivour or fighting cancer.
As you can tell from the photos, the weather was great and we had a fantastic time. Such a fun group of people, some getting very creative with their foursome shots (as seen below)!
Happy 44th anniversary to Ron and Linda Death which happened to be the same day as the tournament.
A special thank you goes out to all of the committee members and volunteers who helped out and made this day FANTASTIC. Steve would be very proud :)
It has been said that having an insect such as a butterfly or dragonfly follow you and/or land on you for a period of time symbolizes that there is a spirit of a loved one around. This dragonfly hung around Steve's sister Kerri for a while. First on her shoe and then moved to her hand.
We all know that Steve was with us that day, but it's nice to get those little reminders like this dragonfly and the beautiful weather :)
